We are participating in the Wright County Historical Society Festival of Trees. There is no admission charge required for entrance to the galleries, library, or Festival of Trees, thanks to the Wright County Commissioners commitment to history access for all residents. All participants can vote for their favorite trees, engage in fun activities, write Santa, browse in their holiday gift shop, and upload a picture to Santa. Trees with the most votes will win the coveted WCHS Festival of Trees Medals in multiple categories! Please come out and support us by voting for our tree!

Pete Stachowicz was a fun, adventurous and successful young man. He graduated in 2016 from the University of Minnesota‘s Carlson School of Management majoring in management information systems. He had landed his dream job at Securian Financial in St. Paul. Only one short year later at the age of 24, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor called anaplastic astrocytoma with an incredibly rare tumor pattern called gliomatosis celebri. This pattern affects three of the four lobes in the brain. This cruel cancer took away his ability to speak, walk and control of his dominant right side. While he only lived for eighteen months after he was diagnosed, he never gave up hope and battled this cancer without one complaint. With great difficulty he was able to say to us, and we share this with those battling cancer, “Don’t give up hope!”
The Peter Stachowicz Foundation is a Minnesota-based, 501c3 nonprofit (92-1846374). Our mission is to offer local cancer patients support, comfort and hope by donating homemade, crocheted blankets. Our vision is to positively impact the lives of those battling cancer. We want to inspire and encourage those through the telling of Peter’s journey of Hope.
